Description
Plants to 18 cm long, sparsely-branched vegetatively, differentiated into distinct vegetative and flowering axes.
Hairs of the floral cushion absent. Flowers in 1 row, 3 per cluster; the male flower solitary and central.
Rudimentary leaves together encircling the node, c. 0.5 mm high, leathery, acute at the apices.
Flower-bearing stems forming terete spike-like conflorescences to 35 mm long, these usually solitary in the axils and sometimes terminal in threes; internodes 1-1.5 mm long; floral bracts c. 0.5 mm long, acute, sparsely and shortly ciliate.
