Notes
Reports on the distribution of this species are often erroneous because it has been con- fused with Sphaerostephanos invisus and S. unitus which have a similar habit (see Holttum in Allertonia, 1977). Loyal found a plant in North India to be diploid; some specimens are possibly hybrids with C. subpubescens.
