Cyathea wengiensis
Content
Notes
A specimen collected from 'tall garden re-growth' in Sepik District (Darbyshire & Hoogland 8042) agrees with the type except in larger size of pinnules, largest being 120 by 23 mm with costules 5-5 ½ mm apart and sterile segments very deeply lobed. This large size may be due to conditions of habitat.
In position of sori C. wengiensis agrees with C. macgillivrayi (BAK.) Domin, but normally the latter has no indusium. Specimens with variable very small indusia which are mostly hemitelioid appear intermediate between the two species.
