Notes

The three localities from which this species is known are far apart, but the specimens are uniform, especially as regards their staminal glands. D. novoguineensis apparently shows no clinal trend towards the characters of this species at the western end of its range. A considerable geographical gap (of c. 200-250 miles) separates the ranges of the two sub-species, as known at present.
