    Pyrus elaeagrifolia subsp. bulgarica replaces the widespread P. spinosa in the far NE of Greece as well as adjacent areas in SE Europe and Turkey, differing, e.g., in the broader, greyish-green leaves. Both are small, sturdy trees, often used as grafting stock for cultivated pears.A
