    Athamanta densa is a rare species known only from Parnassos and Olimbos (reports from S Albania are apparently incorrect). It is found in crevices and ledges of limestone cliffs at 1600–2200 m. The rosette with finely dissected, greyish green leaves grows for several years before developing a stout flowering stem.A
