Previous E. Mediterranean and Greek records of J. phoenicea refer to J. turbinate, a widespread taxon occurring from Makaronesia to SW Asia, while J. phoenicea s.str. is absent from Greece, being confined to mediterranean France and Spain (Adams & al. 2013: 203).
