Daphniphyllum lancifolium

Description

Trees, 12-18 m high. Leaves narrowly angular, ovate, apex acuminate, base cuneate, 12-13.5 by 3.5-4 cm, margins slightly revolute, coriaceous, lateral veins delicate, c. 10 pairs, elevated on both surfaces, reticulation obscure; petioles 3.5 cm long. Flowers unknown.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present)
Malesia: Malay Peninsula, only known from type specimen, collected in Perak, Gunong Ejong.

Notes

This species differs from D. glaucescens by its shorter fruit stalks. It also can be distinguished from D. dichotomum by its larger tuberculate drupes.
