Radermachera coriacea

Description

Leaves 1-pinnate, 20-30 cm; Panicles 15 cm. Capsule 16 cm, valves 5-7 mm wide (ex descr.).

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Philippines (Philippines present), Baler present, Central E. Luzon present, Tayabas Prov present
Malesia: Philippines: Central E. Luzon (Tayabas Prov.: Baler), only known from the type (MERRILL 1099); vern. name bibit parang.

Notes

This is the only specific name in the genus of which I could not trace the type, which may be lost. A lengthwise ridged calyx I have not observed in any species of the genus; the 1-pinnate leaves and narrow leaflets seem rather characteristic. It might possibly be an extreme form of R. pinnata subsp. acuminata.
