Description

Perennial herbs or shrubs, unarmed. Leaves often in rosettes, imparipinnate. Flowers in terminal spikes or heads on usually long and slender peduncles, 4-merous, bi- or unisexual. Sepals deciduous. Petals absent. Stamens 2-50.
