Asia-Tropical: Borneo (Sarawak present), Southern Malaya present, West and East New Guinea present
Malesia: Southern Malaya, Sarawak, West and East New Guinea.
Notes
The type of Dryopteris pallescens has rather numerous short hairs on costae; in other respects it differs little from the type of M. beccarianum. A specimen from Western New Guinea is almost glabrous. Some specimens from Malaya are intermediate between this and M. chlamy- dophorum, having hairs on the lower surface of costae and on indusia; Sarawak specimens seen are very uniform, and the species seems locally abundant there.
