Platea excelsa var. riedeliana

Description

Tree, up to 24 m, up to 45 cm ø. Leaves elliptic to subovate-elliptic, apex obtuse or rounded, rarely subemarginate, 7-15(-21) by 4.5-6 (in sterile specimens or suckers rarely up to 8.5) cm, nerves 6-8(-10) pairs, curved-ascending and rather spaced from each other, reticulation fine and dense, generally markedly raised on both faces. Flowers as in var. excelsa.
