Description

Small shrub l/2-3 m or tree up to 27 m and 50 cm ø. Leaves glabrous or nearly so, elliptic to obovate or orbicular, entire to crenate, apex rounded to acuminate, (1-)2½-12½ by (l-)l½-6cm; Ovary semi-inferior, glabrous, the apex semi-globose, c. 1½ mm high, densely grey-hairy; Fruits spindle-shaped, 10-15 by 3-6 cm, green pinkish red, the enlarged calyx lobes surrounding the hairy, conical, persistent style-base.
