Taxonomy
According to DE BOER () it is not a conifer because of its non-coniferous wood. KOSTERMANS () observed its stipules and nerves and identified it as a juvenile specimen of Ganua sp., later referred tentatively to a distinct species by VAN DEN ASSEM (): Ganua palembanica (MIQ.) VAN DEN ASSEM & KOSTERM. (Sapotaceae).
