Balanophora reflexa

Description

Dioecious plants, rich orange to red or dark red. Leaves 3-8, spirally arranged, length 2-3½ cm, width 1½-2¼ cm. Flowers 7-9 or more.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Borneo present (Sarawak present); Malaya present, Mt Kinabalu present, Pahang present, W. Borneo present
Malesia: Borneo (Sarawak, W. BorneoMt Kinabalu) and Malaya (Pahang, one collection). .

Notes

Distinguished from all other species by the long, reflexed pedicels and the extremely compressed, almost sharp-edged, fan-shaped synandria. Flowering specimens sometimes smelling strongly of fox (CORNER on label).
