Shrubs or small trees. Flowers distinctly pedicelled. Fruits oblong, acutely angled.

As the species.

Uses

Wood is used and marketed as Indian oak. It is used for boat building, carts and for cabinets. Bark used as a fish poison. Many local medicinal uses are also recorded from India.
