Description

Tree 12-25 m high. Bark dark brown; Branchlets glabrescent. Leaves in whorls of 3 or 4; Inflorescence 3.5-5 cm long, many-flowered; Flowers fragrant. Sepals connate at the base for 0.8-1 mm, ovate, 2.4-2.8 by 1.6-2 mm, obtuse, ciliate, densely pubescent outside, glabrous inside, erect. Stamens inserted at 3.6-3.7 mm from the base; Fruit a pair of follicles, c. 43 cm by 4.7-5 mm, glabrous. Seeds dull-brown, elliptic or ovate, 6-8.5 by 2.6-3 mm, pubescent on both sides, one end acuminate with an acumen 1.5-3 mm long, the other end rounded;
