Description

Tree 17-32 m high, 35 cm dbh. Bark smooth, grey or pale brown. Branchlets glabrous. Leaves in whorls of 3 or 4; Inflorescences 5.5-12 cm long, many-flowered; Flowers with a slightly sour odour. Sepals connate at the base for 0.8-1 mm, ovate, 1.7-2.5 by 0.8-1.5 mm, acute or obtuse, pubescent outside and on the free parts inside. Stamens inserted at 3.5 mm from the base; Fruit (known only from the type specimen) a pair of follicles, 60 cm by 3.5 mm, glabrous. Seeds dark brown, narrowly ovate or elliptic, 8.5 by 1.8-2 mm, pubescent, one end acute or acuminate, acumen 1-1.5 mm long, the other end obtuse or rounded;

Asia-Tropical: Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present), Penang present
