Taxonomy
1 Trichosanthes planiglans seems related to T. quinquangulata, with similar seeds with a cuneate base, but the latter differs in the leaves with ± an entire margin, smaller and more numerous glands, and a blackish drying colour.
2 Ramos & Edaño BS 49161 from Mindanao, which apparently belongs to T. quinquangulata resembles T. planiglans in its coarsely dentate leaf margin; the specimen also deviates from T. quinquangulata in ± lobed bracts.
