Description

Branchlets glabrous; Leaves: Inflorescence axillary, sometimes 2 in an axil; Sepals ovate, 1-2 mm long, lobes 0.6-1 by 0.9-1 mm, 0.7-1 times as long as wide, apex rounded, glabrous, ciliate. Stamens inserted at 1.3-2.2 mm from corolla base which is 0.57-0.71 of tube length; Ovary 0.9-1.1 mm long; Fruit spherical, 3-11.2 by 2.2-9.5 cm, green, yellow or orange. Seeds 1.1-1.7 by 0.7-1.1 by 0.6-0.7 cm.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Borneo present; Sulawesi (Sulawesi present); Sumatera (Sumatera present)
Malesia: Sumatra (identity uncertain), Borneo, Sulawesi.

Taxonomy

Only one collection is known from Sumatra, in Aceh, and this collection is in fruit. It has been provisionally identified as W. beccariana but the discovery of flowering material may change this conclusion.
