Notes

HOWCROFT (l.c.) has noted in some areas of New Guinea trees that have more gracile foliage, particularly in the juvenile stage. These differences could well correspond to the type variety which therefore might include New Guinea within its range. While noting that there are slight differences, recent authors have chosen not to use the variety in describing New Guinea material perhaps because in its original description the distinctions actually given are not valid.
