The type specimen was not indicated in the original description but Miquel mentions a Reinwardt specimen from Sulawesi in his account: I have been unable to locate this specimen. The only other species known from Sulawesi is W. beccariana although W. angustifolia, found in Borneo and Buru, possibly also occurs there.
