Description

Thailand (Peninsular); in Malesia: Sumatra, Malaya, Java, Lesser Sunda Is. (Bali), N. & W. Borneo.

Uses

A substitute for Cyclea barbata (WALL.) MIERS in the preparation of 'tjintjau', a native pre-paration used for abdominal diseases and fevers (? leaves used).

Notes

The axis of the inflorescence is usually less than 1 cm long, but on LÖRZING 5509 from Su-matra the axes are up to 14 cm and arise from an old leafless stem.
