Description

Leaves oblong, sometimes somewhat ovate-oblong, rarely elliptic, 5-26 by (1.5—)2—12 cm, entire, base acute, apex acute to caudate, glabrous when mature; Panicles axillary, rarely terminal or ramiflorous, often several together near the end of a branch, 3-30 cm, rather poor and lax, ramified up to the 2nd order;

Distribution

Aceh present, Asia-Tropical: Sumatera (Sumatera present), Tapanuli present, W. Java present, West Coast present
Malesia: Sumatra (not uncommon in Aceh, Tapanuli, and West Coast), W. Java.

Notes

subsp. lepidota is similar and probably most closely related to the adjacent subsp. dolichomischa and subsp. kinabaluensis. However, subsp. lepidota also shows a close resemblance to certain forms of subsp. longipes (MERR.) BEUS. from Vietnam, from which it can sometimes only be distinguished by the shape of the endocarp.
