Description

Leaves obovate or elliptic, rarely ovate, 7-20(-30) by (2-)4-10(-14.5) cm, sometimes asymmetrical; Stipules appressed to patent, triangular, sometimes gland-like, 0.3-0.5 by 0.2-0.3 mm. Sepals basally shortly connate, membranous, ± shell-shaped, 3-4 mm diam., the inner 3 sometimes lacerate up to ⅔. Petals recurving during anthesis, elliptic to obovate, 7.5-9 by 4-4.5 mm. Stamens ob-diplostemonous, the long ones 5.5-6.2 mm and basally thickened, the short ones 1-1.5 mm shorter, 4.5-4.8 mm; Ovary elliptic to obovoid-pyriform, 1-1.5 by 0.7-1.5 mm; Seed 1, smooth, flattened ovoid, 10-11 by 5.5-6 mm, ventrally attached by a long raphe, thickened around the raphe and along the whole length by an arillode;
