Taxonomy

The affinity of the species included in this section was not before recognized; L. pulchella (J. Smith) Mett. ex Kuhn was usually compared, and often confused, with L. lucida Blume (mostly as L. concinna Blume), L. werneri Rosenstock was associated with sect. Synaphlebium, because of its anastomosing veins, etc. The wiry, long-creeping, eventually ± scaleless and polished rhizome with open xylem Strand is quite distinctive. The lamina is unipinnate and the sori are interrupted.
