Description

Tree up to 42 m high and 80 cm Ø, sometimes buttressed. Leaves obovate-oblong, oblanceolate or spathulate, 7½-31 by 4-10½ cm, hairy beneath especially on midrib and nerves, rarely on both surfaces, usually glabrescent; Flowers white or whitish yellow. Petals elliptic, oblong, or ovate-oblong, 2-2½ by 1-1½ mm. Stamens 1½-2mm; Panicles 4½-34 cm long, hairy, sometimes glabrescent;

Anambas present, Asia-Tropical: Borneo present (Brunei present, Sabah present, Sarawak present); Laos (Laos present); Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present); Sumatera (Sumatera present), Banka present, Natuna Is present, Peninsular Thailand present, SE. Borneo present, Simalur present
Peninsular Thailand, Laos, and Malesia: Sumatra (incl. Simalur&Banka), Malay Peninsula, and Borneo (Brunei, Sarawak, Sabah, SE. Borneo, and incl. Anambas&Natuna Is.).

Uses

Though not durable used for houses (). The sour fruit is eaten by the Jakuns in Malaya (BURKILL l.c.).
