Swintonia floribunda

Description

Tree up to 30(-45) m high and 50(-90) cm Ø, sometimes with steep plank buttresses up to 2 m high, often slightly sinuous or angular. Bark light greyish to reddish brown, shallowly fissured. Leaves chartaceous to subcoriaceous, elliptic to narrowly elliptic, oblong or obovate-oblong, 5½-16(-25) by 2-5(-6)cm, glabrous, not papillose beneath; Flowers light green-yellowish or white. Petals oblong or obovate-oblong, 3½-4 by 1-2 mm, cuneate at the base, puberulous on both surfaces, sometimes glabrescent or almost glabrous outside. Stamens 2-3½ mm; Panicles 8-18 cm long, puberulous, glabrescent, or glabrous; Ovary ovoid, c. ½ mm ø;
