Description

Large plants of yellowish color; internodes terete, to 6 cm long; basal cataphylls rather small, 2-4 pairs, upper pair to 3 cm above base; both percurrent and dichotomous; many branches eventually terminating in an inflorescence. Petiole 0.4 cm long; blade coriaceous, narrowly oblong, to 14 x 3 cm, apex rounded to nearly acute, base tapering into indistinct petiole; 3-5 palmate veins. Inflorescence to 4.5 cm long; peduncle simple or double, fertile internodes 4 or 5; flowers 3-5(7) per bract, 2-seriate (occasionally 3-seriate).
