Description

Tree, up to 30 m high, dbh up to 90 cm. Leaves (1-)3-7-jugate; Inflorescences pseudoterminal. Sepals slightly or up to c. 35% connate, 1.5-2 mm long. Petals none. Stamens 7 or 8. Ovary 2-celled. Fruits slightly flattened ellipsoid, 3.5-5 by 2.5 by 2 cm, glabrous, coarsely warty, the warts ± arranged into longitudinal rows, ± obtuse triangular, usually flattened, up to 4 mm high;

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present); Sumatera (Sumatera present), W Java present
Malesia: Sumatra, Malay Peninsula, and W Java.

Notes

Vegetatively, the present species may resemble N. lappaceum var. pallens. The latter differs distinctly by its far more slender twigs and petioles, however.
