Description

Shrub or tree up to 13 m tall, dioecious (or monoecious). Leaves distichous; stipules 0.2-0.4 cm long, whitish puberulous, caducous. flowers 2-9; flowers numerous; ovary 1.5-2 mm long, stigmas 2-3 mm long; Fruit ellipsoid to ovoid to subglobose, 0.6-1 cm long, yellow to reddish to brownish or to purple at maturity.

Asia-Tropical: New Guinea present, Australasia: New South Wales (New South Wales present); Queensland (Queensland present), Guam present, New Caledonia present, New Hebrides present, Norfolk Island present, Pacific: Fiji (Fiji present); Hawaii present, Rapa present, Rota present, Saipan present
Australia (Queensland, New South Wales), and in the Pacific: New Hebrides, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island, Fiji, Rapa, Hawaii, Guam, Saipan, Rota; in Malesia: New Guinea (eastern).

Notes

Collection , deviates from the other collections from New Guinea in being monoecious and having laminas scabrous above.
