Description

Medium-sized tree with flaky bark and steep buttresses. Parts glabrous but for the persistently pubescent parts of the petals exposed in bud. Leaves (6-)8-20 by (2.5-)3.8-7 cm, elliptic, coriaceous, lustrous, minutely punctate above; Sepals subequal, broadly ovate-deltoid, obtuse. Stamens 15, shorter than style, in 3 unequal verticils; Panicle to 4 cm long, slender, terminal or to 2-axillary or ramiflorous; Ovary and stylopodium narrowly pyriform with distinct medial constriction, tapering to the short but distinct columnar style. Fruit subsessile;
