Ficus semicordata

Description

Tree up to 15 m tall, with wide-spreading branches. internal hairs abundant to very sparse, white or brownish. Leaves distichous; stipules 1-2(-3.5) cm long, white appressed-puberulous, on the keel to brown strigose or subhirtellous, caducous. Fruits whitish.

Distribution

Asia-Tropical: India present; Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present); Thailand (Thailand present); Vietnam (Vietnam present), Myanmar present, S China present
From India to Myanmar, S China, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malesia; in Malesia: Malay Peninsula.

Morphology

Young plants (in cultivation at Store Milde, May 2004) showed asymmetric leaves on the plagiotropic branches, but the leaves on the orthotropic branches are symmetric.
