Taxonomy
A species with 4 varieties, closely related to H. spicata and H. tuberculata. Horsfieldia spicata has the generally deeply asymmetrically incurved anthers in common with H. moluccana, but the former differs in pale twigs and (almost) spike-like male inflorescences. Horsfieldia tuberculata has the staminal column hollowed at the apex for 1/5-1/3.
