Radermachera glandulosa

Description

Small, glabrous, evergreen, crooked tree, up to 12 m, 40 cm Ø; Leaves 1-pinnate; Stamens hairy at insertion. Seeds 10-16 by l½-2 mm.

Asia-Temperate, Asia-Tropical: Assam (Assam present); Borneo present; Laos (Laos present); Malaya (Peninsular Malaysia present); Sumatera (Sumatera presentpresent); Thailand (Thailand present), Burma present, Continental SE. Asia present, East Java present, Krakatao present, Kwangsi present, Kwantung present, Penang present, West Malesia present
Continental SE. Asia (Assam, Burma, Thailand, Laos, China: Kwangsi, Kwantung) and West Malesia: Malay Peninsula (also Penang), Sumatra, Krakatao, West to East Java.
The two records from Borneo are erroneous: the KORTHALS specimens are mislocalized and BECCARI 811 (mentioned by MERRILL, En. Born. 1921, 525) is a PS number. Both are from Sumatra.

Uses

The timber is small and of negligeable value.

Notes

The mention of Fernandoa macroloba (MIQ.) STEEN., A N. Sumatran endemic tree, (as 'Heterophragma macrolobium* = Haplophragma macrolobum (Miq.) Steen.) by is derived from a mis- identification; the specimens belong to the common Radermachera glandulosa (Bl.) Miq.
