Iris attica is endemic to Greece and F. Y. R. Makedonija, growing on rocky limestone hills at low and moderate altitude, flowering from February to early May. In the N Balkan Peninsula and EC Europe it is replaced by the similar I. pumila. The flowers are various shades of yellow and bluish purple, often mixed in the same population.A
