Solenanthus stamineus is widespread in Asia from SW Anatolia to W Himalaya, with an isolated outpost locality on Mt Chelmos (discovered by Christos Leonis in 1905). On Chelmos it is not uncommon on gravelly slopes near the present ski resort; it develops early and flowers close to patches of melting snow. A second locality has been found on Mt Giona, where it is apparently rare.A
