Description
Trees with narrow prominent buttresses.
Bark surface flaky or dippled (S. biawak excepted);
Leaf with scalariform tertiary nerves;
Stipules and bracts fugaceous, small.
Flowers cream, often pink at base.
Stamens 20-60, in several verticils;
Ovary tomentose, with stylopodium.
Notes
The species are, with adequate material well defined and most vary little geographically.
