Bark brownish or purplish, smooth.
Branchlets brown to dark brown, pubescent.
Leaves subcoriaceous or coriaceous, elliptic, elliptic-oblong, or obovate-oblong, sometimes narrowly lanceolate, 9-30(-42) by 4—14½(—17) cm, glabrous above except the pubescent midrib, pubescent beneath;
Flowers subsessile, whitish grey, (5-)7-9(-12) mm long.
Petals ovate-bolong or lanceolate, 3½-5 by 1¼-1½ mm.
Stamens2-2¼ mm;
Panicles terminal and sometimes also in the upper leaf axils, up to 33 cm long, tomentose;
