Description

Erect annual herb, 1-1.5 m high. Leaves herbaceous, lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate, 2.5-6 by 1.2-3 cm, acute or acuminate, base acuminate, decurrent; Flowers purplish, pale blue or violet.

Native of tropical America, naturalized in various tropical countries, in Malesia: Lesser Sunda Is. (Sumba, Alor, Timor), SE. Borneo, Philippines (Luzon, Mindoro, Palawan, Mindanao), Celebes (incl. Buton & Muna Is.), Moluccas (Buru). Also in the Marianas.
