Inflorescences axillary, with bracteate, solitary flowers or fascicles of flowers.
Flowers unisexual, actinomorphic, pedicellate, sepals in 2 whorls, free, imbricate, ± equal, petals and disc absent.
Fruit capsular, trilobate, smooth, dehiscing septicidally into 3 or 4 bivalved cocci;
