Description

Treelet, up to 9 m, 10 cm ø. Leaves unifoliolate, 7½-2 3½ by 3½-10 ¼ cm elliptic to oblong, abruptly acuminate to cuspidate, base obtuse to truncate, above glabrous, beneath rusty-pubescent to -velvety, sometimes subglaucous; Sepals suborbicular to obovate, rounded to retuse, 2¼-3 by 1⅔-3 mm. Petals crimson, apically darker, (4¼-)6-8 by (1-)1½-1¾ mm, obovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, obtuse to rounded. Panicles 1-2 together, 7-70 cm, erect to pendulous, rusty-velvety, compact to elongated. Fruit 8-15 by 6-15 mm, subglobose to oblong, rounded, glabrescent, bright red; Seed 1-2 per fruit, 5¼-7 by 3¼-4½ mm;
