Description

Slender understorey tree, 4-25 m high, 20-30 cm in diam., outer bark grey-brown, quite smooth, inner bark straw-coloured, flecked with brown; branches thick, lenticels elliptic. Leaves fascicled at the tip of branches; blades lanceolate, acuminate at apex, the acumen 5-15 mm long, cuneate at base, 12.5-20 by 3.5-7.5 cm, bright brown on both surfaces, lateral nerves 12-14 pairs, prominent on both surfaces, ascending above, sub- trinerved at base; petioles 4-5 cm long, black. Staminate flowers not seen.

Asia-Tropical: New Guinea present
Malesia: widely distributed in New Guinea.
