Notes

1 Small forms have been confused with P. porosa, e.g. by Ching (1935). Pyrrosia penangiana can be recognised by the short rhizome with pseudopeltate, nearly entire scales, and by the strictly monomorphic indument. 2. Specimens from the drier, eastern part of the range are often more compact, and have a denser layer of hairs than specimens from the everwet western part.
