Taxonomy

1 Has been confused with P. rasamalae, from which it differs in the ciliate rhizome scales and the markedly dimorphic fronds. Specimens have been identified as Cyclophorus borneensis, but the type of that is P. rasamalae. 2. This species is heterogeneous in several characters and possibly of hybrid origin, with P. nummularifolia, P. rasamalae, P. christii as candidates for parent species.
