Stellate hairs monomorphic, appressed, forming a dense mat, dirty whitish, rays short, boat-shaped.
Distribution
Asia-Tropical:, Jawa (Jawa present); Lesser Sunda Is. present; Sumatera (Sumatera present)
Malesia: Sumatra, Java, Lesser Sunda Islands.
Morphology
The scales around the phyllopods are often enlarged, forming a distinct tuft. Narrow forms occur which can be distinguished from P. sphaerosticha by the rhizome scales.
