Flowers in short axillary racemes.
Fruit flattened, 16-22 by l¼-l½ cm;
Seeds 1-1½ by 3-3½ cm, incl. the membranous wing.

Asia-Tropical: Philippines (Philippines present), E. Java present, Manila present, Mindanao present, Northern America, Southern America, Surabaya present
A common liana ranging from Mexico to Brazil of tropical dry forest, sporadically also in moist forest, introduced in the Philippines (Manila, Mindanao) and E. Java (Surabaya).
Taxonomy
The genus Pseudocalymna SAMP. & KUHLM. has been reduced to Pachyptera A.DC. by GENTRY (l.c.).
