Distribution

Asia-Tropical: Malaya (Singapore), Banka present, Bogor Botanic Gardens cultivated, SE. Asia cultivated, Southern America: Colombia (Colombia present); Ecuador (Ecuador present)
Colombia and Ecuador, widely cultivated through the tropics and common in SE. Asia and Malesia, never setting fruit. Obviously first introduced in Singapore; the Bogor Botanic Gardens received it from Banka in 1911.
