Description

Tree up to 33 m tall, becoming slightly buttressed, deciduous; internal hairs abundant, yellow. Leaves spirally arranged; stipules 0.5-1.2 cm long, brown appressed-puberulous to strigillose mostly only on the keel or glabrous outside and only ciliolate, caducous.

Morphology

2The species is closely related to F. glandulifera, from which it can be distinguished by the absence of pairs of waxy glands and more numerous lateral veins. A single ± band-shaped gland is often found, in material outside Malesia, at the base of the petiole. 1The species is quite uniform. The material from Borneo is sparsely hairy, the stipules often only ciliolate.
