    Oxytropis purpurea is a rare species known only from a few mountains in N Greece and Albania as well as Galičica Planina in the SW part of F. Y. R. Makedonija. Plants from Olimbos were described by Turrill (1930) as O. olympica, unaware of the fact that this epithet had already been used for a species from Mount Olympus, Washington (NW United States).A
